  • Atopic dermatitis patients who had high levels of IgE antibodies to wheat had increased levels of IgG antibodies to wheat proteins.

  • IgE levels may be absent in normal serum, but increased IgE antibodies to wheat polypeptides were found in sera of those with atopic dermatitis.
